A Queen with a Cause
For Dr. Aliya Frederick, pageantry has never been about the crown alone — it has always been about what the crown makes possible. Since stepping onto the pageant stage for the first time in 2019, Dr. Frederick has used every title, every platform, and every moment of visibility to amplify a message that extends far beyond the stage: that excellence and service belong together, and that every young person deserves to see their own potential reflected back at them.
As a double board-certified pediatric neurologist and neuroscientist who competes at the highest levels of pageantry, Dr. Frederick occupies a space that is entirely her own — and she uses it with intention, grace, and purpose.
Current Title: Ms. Black California USA 2026
Dr. Frederick currently holds the title of Ms. Black California USA and is preparing to compete for the National title in August 2026. As Ms. Black California, she carries a platform rooted in the same values that define everything she does — representation in medicine and STEM, mentorship, youth empowerment, and the belief that dreaming bigger is not just an aspiration but a practice. Through her title, Dr. Frederick represents not only the state of California but every young person who has dared to dream bigger, and be inspired.
