Advancing Migraine Awareness, Education, Access, and Advocacy
Migraine is the 2nd leading cause of disability in the United States and the leading cause of disability for women aged 15–49, according to the World Health Organization. As a pediatric neurologist specializing in headache medicine, Dr. Frederick brings that same commitment to advocacy, awareness, and research funding. Dr. Frederick serves as Co-Chair of Miles for Migraine San Diego Walk / Run / Relax, an annual event supporting migraine and headache awareness, research, and fellowship training. In 2025, she led team "Brainwaves" to become the event's top fundraising team, helping drive record support for the local migraine community.

Black women in the United States face a maternal mortality rate more than three times higher than white women, and the overwhelming majority of these deaths are preventable with earlier recognition and appropriate care.
Not Just Jasmine™ is an official Miss Black USA national initiative, in partnership with the National Alliance of Faith and Justice, exists to close that gap, and this maternal health toolkit is my contribution to the mission.
